Drink of the Week – Backyard Vineyards Blanc de Noir Brut
This week’s Drink of the Week is a refreshing new sparkling wine from Vancouver’s backyard – Langley. On Tuesday we visited FanClub to join Tourism Vancouver, local media and industry members for a preview of Dine Out 2013 with taster teasers from participating restaurants paired with BC VQA wines. Opened in summer 2012, FanClub is an impressively sexy split-level music and dining venue in the heart of Granville where West Coast cuisine meets New Orleans French Quarter inspired design.
Our Drink of the Week is Langley-based Backyard Vineyards‘ newly released Blanc de Noir Brut. It features 100% pinot noir from the Fraser Valley and the Okanagan and is made using the champagne process. Crisp and fruity, we enjoyed this bubbly paired with a dish from Forage of game terrine with IPA mustard, house-made pickled vegetables and pickled walnuts.
Blanc de Noir Brut costs $19.99 and is also fantastic paired with sushi or oysters. Now we’ve had a taste of Dine Out, we can’t wait for it to begin on January 18th. Cheers to that!
