Spa Magnolia introduces safe and effective treatments for cancer patients

With two in five Canadians expected to develop cancer during their lifetime, the disease is a reality close to many of our hearts. Spa Magnolia, located in the award-winning Magnolia Hotel & Spa, is proud to be the first luxury spa and the first hotel spa in British Columbia to provide a specially-designed range of safe and effective treatments for people who have, or are recovering from, cancer.

Spa Magnolia offers four treatments as part of their cancer therapy treatment program: a customized facial; gentle touch massage; hand, foot & scalp treatment; and a transformation manicure and pedicure. Treatments feature Intelligent Nutrients plant stem cell complex (a blend of healing bio active cells found in the DNA of coneflower, pennywort and edelweiss) and additional USDA certified organic body and skin care products. The hgh aging Spa Magnolia also features the complete line of Jane Iredale Makeup, fully endorsed by the American Cancer Association.

Spa Magnolia esthetician Andrew Flanagan recently completed a certification in Clinical Oncology EstheticsĀ® – a training program facilitated by Touch For Cancer which teaches professional estheticians to provide safe, personalized spa treatments to individuals with health-challenged skin. Andrew underwent extensive training in understanding how cancer treatments affect the body at a dermal and lymphatic level and also the psychosocial and psychological implications. The program explored the side effects of cancer therapies, how they are further compounded by various medications and the importance of supporting weakened immune systems. Certification also taught him the gravity of compatible skincare ingredients and how treatments, including massage, need to be performed properly to avoid the irreversible condition of lymphedema.
