Vancouver Symphony Ball celebrates 25 years with artistic violins

Vancouver Symphony Ball marks its 25th anniversary next month – to celebrate this milestone the Committee members have combined their passion for music with a love of art to curate this year’s Symphony Ball Violin Project.

Long & McQuade generously donated violins that were stripped to the bare wood and reworked by renowned Vancouver artists.  Tiko Kerr, Cori Cree, First Nations artist Shawn Hunt, and sculptor Cathryn Jenkins all used their artistic vision to transform the violins.  The artists’ interpretations became four exquisite pieces of art that will be put up for auction at the sold-out Vancouver Symphony Ball on February 12, 2015.  Watch the video to learn more about what inspired each individual artist’s creation.
