Cause For Cocktails Raises Over $165,000 to Support Single Mothers Living in Poverty in Greater Vancouver Area

Cause We Care Foundation‘s Cause For Cocktails event saw many of the city’s most philanthropic and influential join together to successfully raise over $165,000 to support programs and resources for single mothers and their children in need in the Greater Vancouver area. Held at the D6 Bar & Lounge at Parq Vancouver, on Friday September 28th, with special guest DJ Foxy Moron, the two hour stand up cocktail reception raised funds simply through donation with no live or silent auction.

“We would like to thank our incredible guests, who brought friends and family out in support, as well as each one of our sponsors,” says Andrea Thomas Hill, Cause We Care’s Founder. “We hosted this evening event with the goal in mind of continuing to support single mothers and children in need, in turn uplifting our communities.”

Guests at the event were moved to hear how Cause We Care Foundation is making a difference at the Ray-Cam Co-operative Centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. A powerful video created by Juice Group showed interviews with beneficiaries of the centre’s daycare program, funded by The Foundation, that inspired donors to dig deep through clearly illustrating the valuable impact Cause We Care has on single mothers and their children in the community.

Cause We Care would like to recognize the event’s invaluable sponsors including Mark Anthony Wine & Spirits, Aritzia, Juice Group, Freeman Audio Visual, and D6 Bar & Lounge at Parq Vancouver. Cause We Care Foundation supports more than 30 front line organizations, including inner-city schools, community centres, training programs and Cause We Care House.
