Drink of the Week – Bellini from Harry’s Bar in Venice

On a visit to Venice this summer we just had to experience the city’s precious gem, Harry’s Bar. Harry’s Bar has a unique history having opened in 1931. Ever since the first opening day, the bar has attracted VIPs and celebrities from around the world. What really wowed us is that Harry’s Bar is in fact where the ‘Bellini’ was originally created, dating back to the 40s.

Harry’s Bellini is regarded as the best Champagne cocktail in the world – on your next trip to Venice you simly must try one! This delicious Bellini is made with Prosecco instead of Champagne, mixed with fresh frozen white peach puree. To relieve the tart or sour taste of the puree, simply add a bit of sugar or simple syrup.

Fun fact? Harry’s white peach cocktail ‘the Bellini’ was named after Giovanni Bellini, the 15th century Venetian painter in 1948.
