Behind the Scenes – S/S 2012 Eco Fashion Week Vintage Runway Show
Last Tuesday we were thrilled to attend the Spring / Summer 2012 Eco Fashion Week opening Vintage Runway Show. Cameras flashed and heads turned as models walked the runway in elegant designs by Sarah La Greca, Deanna Palkowski and Myriam Laroche (Eco Fashion Week’s very own Founder and President). We just couldn’t believe that the garments were made from 100% recycled clothing on behalf of Value Village. The three eco-stylists breathed new life into the secondhand fabrics, creating both chic and versatile looks with a range of every day pieces as well as more formal outfits for on-the-town.
Myriam Laroche has done an impressive job of Eco Fashion Week, and in just two years has put Vancouver on the map for eco-forward style. This season’s fashion week ran from April 10 – 12th at Vancouver’s iconic Robson Square. Short and sweet, we can’t wait for next season’s shows. Not only a pleasure to see the very latest in sustainable style, but it was a real treat to mingle with a trendy crowd of local socialites, designers, buyers, media and dedicated fashionistas. Just in case you missed the shows, here is a sneak peek of our favourite looks.
