Sir George Fistonich Visits Vancouver in Celebration of Villa Maria Estate’s 50th Vintage

Sir George Fistonich, Founding Owner and Managing Director of Villa Maria Estate, is travelling around the globe to over 20 countries to celebrate the winery’s 50th vintage. He will be in Canada for a week during May visiting Vancouver on May 16th and 17th, 2012.

Sir George Fistonich founded Villa Maria Estate in Auckland in 1961. With vision, passion and determination, his dedication to quality has led Villa Maria Estate to become New Zealand’s Most Awarded Winery. Today, Villa Maria Estate has two state–of-the-art winery and cellar door facilities, one in Auckland and one located in the South Island’s highly regarded Marlborough wine-growing region.

Sir George has been recognized both nationally and internationally as a significant figure in the New Zealand wine industry. Sir George’s passion for excellence and ability to instill that passion in those associated with Villa Maria are major factors in the company’s continuing success.
