It’s National Children’s Day!
Happy Children’s Day! Spend this day planning fun events that are tailored specifically for your little one, there are plenty to choose from around this time of year.
• On November 22nd – January 6th, the Vancouver Aquarium will be showing the modern-day classic “The Polar Express†in their popular 4-D experience that will make viewing the movie quite a sensory experience!
• In its third year, the Vancouver Christmas Market is returning to the Plaza at Queen Elizabeth Theatre. With authentic German treats and trinkets this is the perfect spot for the family to get in the spirit. There are already deals on admission on many of the online coupon sites like Travelzoo and ethicaldeal so there’s no excuse not to miss the event on from November 24th – December 24th.
• Another idea for the smaller ones is Bright Nights in Stanley Park. Over a million colourful lights illuminate the park. Ride the train, visit Santa and watch the Parade of Trees.
• Start a yearly tradition of visiting the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. This coming December 2nd the hotel is celebrating its Heritage Day and will house carolers, live piano music, your choice of hot chocolate or warm apple cider. This is also the same day as the annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade so come early and you can get optimal spots to see Santa. There will also be hotel tours and children will be able to send letters to Santa through the hotel’s original bronze letterbox.
• Something for the more mature kids is The Nutcracker, back only for three days at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. With evening and matinee performances over the weekend of December 14th – December 16th, there are plenty of show times to choose from so you don’t miss out. Ticket prices from $30 – $90.
