Foodie Friday – Spot Prawn Festival

Have you spotted them yet? We’ve been keeping our eyes, and shellfish, peeled looking out for the start of 2013’s spot prawn season. Tomorrow is the official beginning of the six to eight week fishing season, which is celebrated at the Chef’s Table Spot Prawn Festival. Tickets for the spot prawn boil are sold out but the festival is free and there will be chef demos at Fisherman’s Wharf between 11am and 3pm, as well as fresh prawns for sale at the dock. Head to False Creek around noon to buy spot prawns straight off the Organic Ocean fishing boats – $12 per pound!
