LEADERSHIP POSITION (ACCOUNT MANAGER / ACCOUNT DIRECTOR)
Role Overview:
Depending on prior experience, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with agency principal and communications director, leading their own portfolio of agency client accounts and helping to manage a team of talented coordinators and assistants. This will be a chance to leverage existing media and influencer relationships across Canada and the US to secure meaningful coverage for luxury travel and lifestyle clients, as well as manage / direct all strategic efforts including events, partnerships and collaborations, press trips, media conference attendance, content development and social media.
Skills Required:
• Minimum of four years’ communications experience within an in-house or agency environment for luxury brands
• Experience working with and passion for luxury lifestyle, travel, wine and fashion brands
• Self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented, creative and with a great sense of humour
• An established and proven media and industry network, within the fields of lifestyle, travel and fashion – across Canadian and US markets
• Proven success in managing long-term client relationships and providing strategic counsel that delivers meaningful results
• A motivating leader, driven by success
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• A deep understanding of social media and content creation
• A portfolio of event planning successes
• Experience working with luxury lifestyle, travel and fashion clients
• Microsoft suite and Cision essential, Mac OS X preferable

ACCOUNT COORDINATOR
Role Overview:
Our new recruit will be actively involved in many areas of account services to Hawksworth Communications clients, as directed by agency principal and senior management team. The role will include working on strategic plans and decisions in partnership with management staff for the client portfolio, as well as establishing and nurturing relationships with top-level local, national and international travel, food, fashion, business and lifestyle media and influencers. Duties will include hosting some evening events/dinners, meet and greet site tours and media press trips, as well as client facing activities, content writing, social media planning, monitoring and posting, and helping to develop strategic partnerships on behalf of our client.
Skills Required:
• Minimum one year communications experience within an in-house or agency environment for luxury brands
• Keen interest and previous travel experience in BC tourism destinations including Vancouver, Whistler, Tofino and the Okanagan
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Canadian and US media and social media landscapes, and have a black book of proven media and influencer relationships
• A strong eye for detail and ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests
• Have a firm grasp on storytelling with a shrewd understanding of what makes news
• Ability to identify trends and turn them into opportunities
• Self-motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented
• Previous database management experience preferable
• A talent for design and knowledge of design suites preferable
• Microsoft suite and Cision essential, Mac OS X preferable
