Cause We Care’s 11th Annual care package drive will bring Christmas cheer to 825 single mother-led families in the community
Vancouver, BC (November 15, 2017) – Cause We Care is thrilled to announce its partnership with Capital Direct for the 11th annual Christmas Care Package Drive on December 12th, 2017. This year’s goal is to deliver 825 care packages, filled with food items and small gifts, to 27 frontline organizations in the Lower Mainland, in support of single mother-led families and children in need. Capital Direct has generously agreed to match every donation up to $30,000 meaning that every online donation will go twice as far.
For over ten years Cause We Care has successfully aided local organizations in supporting low-income families across the Greater Vancouver area. The largest carepackage drive in Vancouver, this year’s Christmas drive will deliver approximately 25,000 pounds of food and essential items to single mothers and their families just in time for the holidays.
“The holiday season can be a very difficult time for single mothers, so with the support of Capital Direct, we aim to lend a helping hand to those in need” says Andrea Hill, Founder of Cause We Care. “By providing a heartfelt package of basic household items, food, and simple but thoughtful gifts, we hope to free up these women’s valuable time and resources, allowing them to spend more quality time with their children.”
We are proud to support this initiative alongside Andrea and her dedicated group of volunteers for another year” says Richard Nichols from Capital Direct. “Our team is looking forward to participating in the drive and we encourage others to get behind this important cause to donate online or volunteer their time. It’s so inspiring to see how much can be accomplished when we come together at such a special time of year.”
Vancouverites can help support the drive by donating online – for every online $75 donation on www.causewecare.org, a care package will be delivered to a local family in need. Donations can be made in honour of loved ones or in lieu of holiday gifts with dedicated e-cards delivered to recipients.
Special thanks goes to Army & Navy for their generous contribution as well as to Aritziafor keeping mothers and children warm through the winter with donated scarves and gloves. Further thanks to Capital Direct for matching donations dollar for dollar and Classic Packaging for the care package bags. Thanks to Dueck Auto Group for providing cargo vans for care package deliveries, Save on Foods (Cambie Street) for food donations, Urban Impact for recycling from the care package drive and Pediatric Dental Group. A final thank you to Purdy’s Chocolatier for their continuous support of this initiative.
