TIFFANY & CO. AT THE 90TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS
Los Angeles (March 4, 2018) – Tiffany & Co. is honoured to be worn by strong and inspiring talent at this year’s 90th Annual Academy Awards.
Presenter Gal Gadot debuted the first pieces from the 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection, including an exquisite necklace with a 27 carat aquamarine drop and over 1000 diamonds.
“While inspired by Tiffany & Co.’s extraordinary Art Deco jewellery from the 1930s, the necklace’s icy aquamarines, classic lines and graphic shapes juxtaposed with platinum and diamonds make it feel irreverent and unexpectedly modern,” said Reed Krakoff, chief artistic officer, Tiffany & Co. “It took nearly a year to procure and cut the ethically sourced gemstones, reflecting the exacting standards and craftsmanship of our artisans.”
Gadot was photographed by acclaimed photographer Renell Medrano as she prepared for the red carpet. Gadot remarked “I am thrilled to be part of an amazing legacy of inspiring women who have worn Tiffany for over 180 years. As a longtime fan of the brand, it means so much to get to wear this special custom piece from the Tiffany Blue Book Collection.”
Best Director and Best Original Screenplay nominee Greta Gerwig celebrated her achievements for Lady Bird wearing Tiffany & Co. archival jewels. She took to the red carpet in an archival moonstone necklace designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1910-1920), as well as diamond earrings and a sapphire ring.
“There are so many meanings behind the choices we’ve made collectively for Greta’s style this awards season. To end the season on Hollywood’s biggest night in jewellery as special as these pieces from the archives of Tiffany & Co. perfectly sums up the significance that Greta’s season has been. The necklace we chose was a perfect mix of delicate and statement. The moonstones, which are known to be good luck, are matched beautifully against the beading in her dress.” said Cristina Ehrlich, stylist for Greta Gerwig.
Tiffany & Co. also had the pleasure of dressing nominee and performer Common, who donned a watch accompanied by a key pendant.
Presenter Zoey Deutch also all wore Tiffany, accessorizing her look with earrings from the 2018 Extraordinary Colours of Tiffany Collection along with rings.
As an ongoing proponent of change, Tiffany made a donation to the TIME’S UP legal defence fund on behalf of all of the female nominees to support women everywhere.
