Role: Account Assistant / Account Coordinator
Term: Permanent, position available September 16th 2019
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours a week, some evenings and weekends required
Benefits: 2 weeks paid holiday per year, plus stat holidays and seasonal office closures at Christmas and Easter, medical and dental plan.

THE ROLE: Actively involved in all areas of account services to Hawksworth Communications clients , with senior-level direction and support, you will primarily be working with local and national food and drink, travel, lifestyle, news and business media to secure coverage in target publications in addition to supporting other marketing and sales-driven initiatives. Tasks include, drafting content for e-news and social media feeds, coordinating event logistics and VIP/media reservations, coordinating and assisting with photo-shoots, conducting pitch calls and emails, researching and developing media lists, assembling press kits, preparing detailed tracking reports and general office administration. Some evening and weekends may be required for industry and media events, hosted dinners, media meet & greet, site tours and familiarization visits.
A TYPICAL DAY will include: strategic media pitching and list building; content creation and copy writing for press releases, e-news and social; social media updates and engagement; media and vip reservations co-ordination for restaurant dining and hotel stays, facilitating media image and information requests, coordinating media interviews, drafting bios and interview responses, attending industry networking and training events, updating client meeting agendas and preparing meeting minutes, press trip itinerary coordination; influencer outreach; tracking media and social coverage; and results reporting.
YOU HAVE: One year to 18 months experience in a similar communications role, either in-house or within an agency environment and hold a university degree or equivalent – in public relations, digital marketing, or journalism. You have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prioritize, problem solve and multi-task. You are full of positive energy and have a can-do attitude. You are motivated by results and are keen to learn and grow within our team. You are proficient in social media platforms and ideally have some experience or understanding of Cision, Meltwater, Mailchimp, Vertical Response, InDesign, Pixelmator, Google Adwords or other PR & marketing specific software platforms.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced boutique agency environment and will have a passion for food and wine, travel and hospitality and knack for social media and content creation as well as traditional media storytelling.
