Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country announces Savour the Sun Vancouver series
H Tasting Lounge to host three winemaker dinners this season
As part of the popular Savour the Sun series, Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country is excited to announce a new partnership with H Tasting Lounge in The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver.
Held monthly from February to April, Savour the Sun Vancouver will celebrate seasonally-influenced menus centered around the bounty of the Vancouver seafood scene, while showcasing wines from some of British Columbia’s most prestigious winemakers. Each interactive dining experience will be prepared by H Tasting Lounge’s Chef Shaun Maclean and his culinary team, and attended by a winemaker or winery principal who will share the unique story behind the wine.
Kicking off the series on Sunday, February 9, H Tasting Lounge welcomes Neelam Dhaliwal from Kismet Estate Winery. Since establishing themselves as one of the Okanagan Valley’s premier grape growers after immigrating to Canada in the early 1990s, it was a natural transition for the Dhaliwal family to start producing their own wine, opening Kismet (meaning Destiny) in 2013.
On Sunday, March 8, winemaker Melissa Smits of Intersection Estate Winery will host the second dinner, celebrating International Women’s Day and sharing insight into how women are a driving force of change in the Okanagan’s wine industry. Dedicated to the hands-on farming and creation of wines that express a sense of place, Intersection’s portfolio reflects the potential of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country’s unique terroirs.
The final dinner on Sunday, April 5, will feature Gene Covert of Covert Farms Family Estate showcasing the flavours of his 650-acre organic farm and winery. Gene, a third-generation farmer, has a true passion for sustainable farming and has practiced regenerative agriculture for decades. This dedication to the land has resulted in the exceptional fruit flavours and purity that guests will experience with their pairings at H Tasting Lounge.
Located on the lobby level of The Westin Bayshore with direct access to the Vancouver Seawall, H Tasting Lounge features a classic yet contemporary art deco design and unparalleled views of the Coal Harbour Marina.
Tickets for each winemaker dinner experience cost $114 per person (plus GST & gratuity), please visit www.oliverosoyoos.com/savour-the-sun-vancouver to learn more.
