Savour the Sun Wine Dinner at Yellow Door Bistro on April 12th, 2023

menu by Chef Quinn Staple and Chef Scott Redekopp

Enjoy new release and library wines from three iconic Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country wineries during a delicious dinner, taking place on Wednesday April 12th, 2023, at Calgary’s Yellow Door Bistro

Director of Food & Beverage, Quinn Staple, and Executive Chef, Scott Redekopp, will prepare an ingredient-driven, five course feast with each dish carefully paired with wines from B.C.’s Okanagan Valley’s Golden Mile and Black Sage Road: Burrowing Owl Estate Winery; Gold Hill Estate Winery; and Road 13 Vineyards

“We couldn’t be happier to bring this delicious line up of wines to Calgary for our popular Savour the Sun wine dinner,” says Jennifer Busmann, executive director of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. “Partnering with Chef Staple and Chef Redekopp from Yellow Door Bistro is always a pleasure and we appreciate their passion for creating delicious and creative dishes that pair perfectly with wines from our region.”

Guests will start the evening with Scallop Carpaccio, confit beet, apple lemon vinaigrette paired with Gold Hill Estate Winery 2021 Sauvignon Blanc, followed by Pork Belly, Prawn and Mango Press with chicharron, crispy taro, cilantro, vadouvan curry coconut yogurt with Burrowing Owl Estate Winery 2021 Chardonnay. Next, Pomegranate BBQ Beef Brisket with charred cabbage, pickled red onion and crispy corn pudding with Road 13 Vineyard 2020 John Oliver Selection Syrah and for the main course, Roast Ewe-nique Farms Lamb Saddle with braised lamb neck pomme paillasson, tomato red pepper chutney and salsa verde with Gold Hill Estate Winery 2017 Cabernet Franc. For dessert, Avonlea Cheddar Gougère with vanilla cheddar ice cream and apple cardamom compote, completes the meal with a glass of Burrowing Owl Estate Winery 2019 Meritage. 

Guests will have the opportunity to chat to winery owners and ambassadors including: Navi Gill owner of Gold Hill Estate Winery; Stephen Neumann, brand ambassador for Burrowing Owl Estate Winery; and Alfredo Jop, assistant guest experiences manager from Road 13 Vineyards.
