Cause We Care Foundation Launches 17th Annual Holiday Care Package Campaign

17th annual Care Package Drive delivers groceries, essentials, warm accessories, small treats and most importantly, a message of hope to single mothers and low income families

Cause We Care Foundation, a Vancouver based grassroots organization, is excited to announce the start of its 17th annual  Holiday Care Package Campaign. With a goal to raise $210,000, this campaign aims to provide funds to support low-income families across the Lower Mainland by sending Care Packages filled with hope, essentials, and treats to those in need.

Founded in 2007 by Andrea Thomas Hill, Cause We Care Foundation initially started with a humble mission to alleviate some of the pressures faced by struggling single moms during the holiday season. What began with just 50 Care Packages being assembled  has now become the largest drive of its kind in Vancouver and has to date delivered 10,000 Care Packages to those in need.

“The holidays can be a really challenging time for families with limited resources,” says Thomas Hill, Founder of Cause We Care. “Seventeen years later our mission remains the same. We know how much these Care Packages mean to those who receive them and so once again this year we are asking for corporations and individuals to get behind our cause and to help lift up others in our community.”

Cause We Care Foundation collaborates with local companies to secure donated or wholesale cost items, ensuring that every donation makes a significant impact. Each online donation of $175 provides a Holiday Care Package valued at well over $250. These packages include a Herschel backpack filled with essentials and treats, such as a $100 Save-On-Foods grocery gift card, warm accessories from Aritzia, eyewear from KITS Eyecare and most importantly, a message of hope to vulnerable mothers in our community. Corporate Champion Capital Direct, will generously match all donations up to $35,000, effectively doubling the impact of every dollar donated.

On December 4th a dedicated group of volunteers will gather at BC Place Stadium to help assemble and deliver over a thousand care packages. These packages will be distributed to recipients through Cause We Care’s network of trusted frontline organizations, including  the YMCA, inner-city schools, community centers and transition houses.

Individuals can make donations in honour of loved ones, with festive e-cards delivered to recipients and ‘campaign champions’ can sponsor an entire frontline beneficiary organization, starting from $3500, a great way for companies to engage employees or contribute in lieu of holiday corporate gifts.
