CAUSE WE CARE FOUNDATION’S MOTHER’S DAY LUNCHEON RAISES OVER $600,000 FOR SINGLE MOTHERS
Vancouver, BC (May 17th , 2024): Cause We Care Foundation hosted their annual Mother’s Day Luncheon last Friday, May 10th at Aritzia’s A’Ok Commissary, where attendees gathered to celebrate motherhood by supporting low income single mothers and children who are facing adversity, and to learn how the Single Mother’s Support Fund can change lives.
Once gathered, guests had the chance to hear from Single Mothers Support Fund beneficiary and guest speaker Sarah, who bravely shared her experiences and challenges as a single mother, and the positive impact that receiving this grant had on her when she decided to go back to school. For Sarah “it meant that, for that last year when my course load was heaviest, I didn’t have to work 2-3 jobs on the side. With the grant, I was able to focus on completing my program, without compromising being present for my kids.” For many single mothers, going back to school or focusing on job training is not an option due to the unique constraints felt by these women as sole caregivers and providers. The Single Mothers Support Fund commits to removing the financial burden of everyday expenses by providing support for childcare, housing, transportation, groceries, and more, unlocking a freedom for single mothers to focus on their education or training programs and their children.
