Enjoy a Nature Getaway Like No Other at Naturally Pacific Resort

From a Grizzly Getaway to Snorkeling with Salmon, Campbell River has it all this fall

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. (September 27, 2024): This fall, tick adventures off the bucket list with a trip to Campbell River. From accessible day trips to see the legendary grizzly bears of Bute and Toba, to snorkeling with salmon in the Campbell River, reviving spa experiences and the elegant surroundings of Naturally Pacific Resort, fall is the perfect time to explore this untapped corner of Vancouver Island.

From October 2nd to 20th, 2024, Naturally Pacific Resort has partnered with Campbell River Whale Watching & Adventure Tours to offer an exclusive October Grizzly Getaway, which includes a two night stay at the resort plus a thrilling full-day trip to see grizzly bears, saving up to 27% per guest. The trip starts with a scenic boat ride, weaving through the islands of the Discovery Passage and Desolation Sound to reach the outer boundaries of the Great Bear Rainforest. Witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, at either the Orford River Valley on the Bute Inlet, the traditional territory of the Homalco First Nation or the Toba Inlet, home to the Klahoose First Nation. Campbell River Whale Watching & Adventure Tours works in close partnership with both First Nations groups, to graciously allow access to and guide visitors through this immensely beautiful part of British Columbia’s wilderness. Once on land, Indigenous guides lead guests to a series of raised platforms with prime viewing opportunities to see grizzly bears trying to catch and feed on the spawning salmon, potentially as close as 10m away. Enjoy a delicious lunch and snacks before returning back to Campbell River, scouting for whales, seals, eagles and other wildlife along the way.

Share stories of bucket-list adventure around the cozy outdoor fireplaces at Naturally Pacific Resort or over a delicious, well-earned dinner at Carve Kitchen + Meatery before soaking into a pillow-top bed in one of the resort’s 100 guestrooms, overlooking the emerald fairways of the Campbell River Golf Club.

Fall is also the best time to witness one of the world’s great migrations – the journey of five species of salmon up the Campbell River to the freshwater streams of their spawning grounds. Dive in and see the salmon up close, with the help of OceanFix Dive Shop, which offers the River Run Rental Package ($40), including a 7mm wetsuit, fins, boots, snorkel and mask as well as either a map of the river entry points, or a river guide at an additional cost. Swim past thousands of salmon as you float downstream towards the mouth of the Campbell River, connecting with nature in a unique way and observing the intricate life cycles of these remarkable species in their natural habitat.

At Naturally Pacific Resort, after a day of adventure, guests can unwind with a visit to Immersion Spa + Wellness. The Spa’s Experience Showers and Mineral Pool, designed by Italian luxury spa designers, Aquaform, together create a holistic wellness offering like no other. The Experience Showers take guests on a journey through wild nature, based on four specific areas, chromotherapy (light), aquatherapy (water), aromatherapy (scent) and sound, which combine to offer a multi-sensory experience that promotes well-being. The neighbouring Mineral Pool is saturated with naturally sourced magnesium, sodium and potassium, offering anti-inflammatory benefits and soothing sore muscles while restoring skin’s lost minerals.
