Stylish Monday – Topshop Festival Fashion Trend Talk with Joy Pecknold

Last Thursday we stopped by Topshop for a festival fashion trend talk with FASHION Magazine editor Joy Peckold. A small group of Vancouver’s most stylish gathered at Topshop in The Bay downtown Vancouver over canapes and refreshing gin cocktails. Guests enjoyed an exclusive 20% shopping discount as a live DJ spun top hits and were treated with chic goodie bags that included the latest issue of FASHION and cute festival-inspired belts.

We loved Joy’s trend talk which combined her favourite Topshop festival looks. The presentation also included some outfits specifically chosen by Topshop’s new partner, Kate Bosworth. Here are Joy’s favourite festival looks in case you missed out!

This first look offers the most versatility. The skirt, crop top and blazer can be worn individually to create three separate looks, or together for this chic Mad Men inspired festival outfit.

Cute sleeveless dress layered over a black mesh top. Joy recommends opting for a white satchel instead of black for a brighter, summer look. Boots, Rasta style hat and sunglasses are a great way to stay comfortable & protected from the sun at festivals!

Whimsical, Great Gatsby Daisy Buchanan inspired festival look. Love the beaded shorts in punchy coral paired with a simple gladiator sandal. “You want to look like Daisy Buchanan, but you don’t want to be her!” – Joy Pecknold

Go for a retro festival look with gemstone cat-eye sunglasses, metallic statement necklaces (love the rope detailing) and colourful patterned tops & skirts. This top actually  functions as a dress and cover up as well!
