CAUSE WE CARE MOTHER’S DAY LUNCHEON RAISES $98,000 TO SUPPORT SINGLE MOTHERS LIVING IN POVERTY
Cause We Care Foundation‘s fourth annual Mother’s Day luncheon saw many of the city’s most philanthropic and influential join together to successfully raise $98,000 to support programs and resources for single mothers and their children in need in the Greater Vancouver area. Held at The Victor at Parc Vancouver, on Friday May 11th, presented by Capital Direct and emceed by Kid Carson, with special guest speaker Bill Good, the event’s proceeds will help single mother-led families in a variety of ways through education and employment training, childcare programs and essential care package drives.
“We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to each of our sponsors and everyone who joined us at the luncheon,” says Andrea Thomas Hill, Cause We Care’s Founder. “We hosted this event to celebrate all the incredible mothers in our own lives, and to help those mothers in need in our community, who have often escaped difficult circumstances and through no fault of their own are struggling to make ends meet.”
Guests at the luncheon were moved to hear first-hand how one beneficiary from the Open Door Group’s Women in Trades Training Program was directly impacted by the support of Cause We Care Foundation and was able to achieve social stability and economic independence through accessing the resources they provided. Cause We Care Foundation supports more then 30 front line organizations, including inner city schools, community centres, training programs and the YWCA Cause We Care House.
Cause We Care would like to recognize the event’s invaluable sponsors including Bacci’s, Blue Ruby, C4 Eyewear, Capital Direct, Haywood Securities, Juice Group, Living Space Interiors, PaperQueen, RYU, The Uncommon Cake, Thomas Hobbs Florist and The Victor at Parc Vancouver.
