Whistler’s hotel industry gains new female leadership team

Whistler’s leading boutique hotel, Nita Lake Lodge, is pleased to announce the appointment of Carly Scholz to the role of General Manager, the youngest woman to take the role in this thriving mountain community.  Scholz continues a legacy of impactful leadership following in the footsteps of Theresa Lambert (née Ginter) who successfully lead the team over 6 years, during which time the hotel was recognized as the ‘Top Resort in Canada’ by Conde Nast Traveler in 2015.

“I am honoured to follow in Theresa’s footsteps and grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside her for the past seven years,” says Scholz. “Our brand mandate to deliver excellence, driven by authenticity both internally and externally remains firmly intact and beyond that I’m excited to lead our team to achieve new goals and continued success.”

As the property’s new General Manager, Scholz will oversee all departments and hotel operations as well as take the lead on the future direction of the property.  With the goal to earn wide recognition as Whistler’s leading wellness resort across North America, Scholz is joined by new Assistant General Manager Hannah Edwards, previously Manager of The Spa at Nita Lake Lodge and Sarah Werkhoven who takes over leadership of The Spa at Nita Lake Lodge stepping up from her previous role as Assistant Spa Manager. 

Nita Lake Lodge has been privately owned and operated by the Scholz family for the past 10 years and is home to Aura Restaurant, Cure Lounge & Patio, Fix Café and The Spa at Nita Lake Lodge –  named one of the Top 25 Spas in Canada in the 2019 Canadian Spa Awards. Nita Lake Lodge has recently unveiled a brand new, two tier spa complete with Champagne Nail Bar in partnership with Moet et Chandon adding an engaging new aprés option for Whistler travellers. Nita Lake Lodge is a Four Diamond property and is consistently recognized as one of the Top Resorts in Canada in the annual Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.
