Cause We Care Foundation kick’s off holiday campaign with a goal to raise $210,000 to help 1200 families in need this festive season

16th annual Care Package Drive delivers groceries, essentials, warm accessories, small treats and most importantly, a message of hope to single mothers and low income families

Cause We Care Foundation kicks off their fundraising campaign this week in support of the 16th annual  Cause We Care Holiday Care Package Drive. This year’s goal is to raise $210,000 to provide funds to fill and distribute an incredible 1,200 Holiday Care Packages to low income families across the Lower Mainland who are faced with challenging situations for any number of reasons and through no fault of their own.

“With rising inflation, high costs of living and continually spiking food costs, the holidays will be especially hard for families with limited resources,” says Shannon Newman-Bennett, Executive Director of Cause We Care. “This year, we are more determined than ever to make a difference and support  single mothers, to help alleviate some of the pressures they face and make the holidays a little brighter for them and their children. We are asking for corporations and individuals to give generously as every dollar counts and sends an important message of hope.”

Each online donation of $175 will provide a Holiday Care Package valued at well over $250, to a family in need. Donations can be made in honour of loved ones or in lieu of holiday gifts with dedicated e-cards delivered to recipients. Corporations can become “Champions” by sponsoring an entire frontline beneficiary organization (from $3500), a great way to engage employees or contribute in lieu of holiday corporate gifts. Volunteers are needed to help assemble and deliver over a thousand care packages on December 5th and 6th at the Rocky Mountaineer Station, find out more at www.causewecare.org/volunteer.
