Heather Hospitality Group Partners with SOLEfood Urban Farm

The Heather Hospitality Group has formed a partnership with SOLEfood and now have a SOLEfood Salad at every one of HHG’s restaurants, including The Irish Heather Gastropub, Judas Goat Taberna, Salt Tasting Room and Bitter. The delicious salad combines heirloom tomatoes, SOLEfood greens and radishes, Rabbit River Farm hard-boiled egg, and dijon dressing for $8.

HHG has committed to buying 25 lbs of mixed greens and sources fresh vegetables and produce from SOLEfood Farm every week. The greens are grown mere blocks away from where HHG operates, in a two-acre urban farm built in a parking lot on Pacific Boulevard.

“We believe in buying local, building relationships with our producers and in supporting good causes,” says Sean Heather, owner of HHG. “But this isn’t about charity – Michael Ableman is a pro and SOLEfood greens are high quality produce.” The founder of the Center for Urban Agriculture at Fairview Gardens, California, SOLEfood’s Michael Ableman is a farmer, author, and photographer and a recognized practitioner of sustainable agriculture and proponent of regional food systems. He has written several books and numerous essays and articles, and lectures extensively on food, culture, and sustainability worldwide.
