Forge Christmas Traditions at Rosewood Hotel Georgia

Gather the family and make Rosewood Hotel Georgia a festive tradition this holiday season, as the Vancouver hotel glows with warmth, lights and decorations, and the historical walls sing with Christmas cheer.

On Sunday December 2nd, Rosewood Hotel Georgia celebrates its own Heritage Day on the same day that the city’s annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade passes right in front of its doors on Georgia Street, in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Make the hotel your base for the day or visit pre-parade to enjoy carol singers, live piano music and complimentary hot chocolate or warm apple cider, alongside a forest of twinkling Christmas trees, ginger-bread houses and festive flower displays. Donations will be accepted for the CKNW Orphan’s Fund throughout the day and heritage hotel tours will take place every 30 minutes from the lobby.

Children are encouraged to post letters to the North Pole via the hotel’s original bronze letterbox, a historic feature from when the property first opened in 1927. Look for Santa himself as he pays a visit to the Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s elegant lobby during the day.

Seasonal celebrations continue on Christmas Eve when Head Chef Ken Nakano will be presenting a celebratory Oceanwise seafood buffet in the Spanish Ballroom. Dinner costs $88 per adult, $78 for seniors and $38 for children (five and under dine for free) plus tax and gratuity. Reservations required – please call 604.673.7031.

For the ultimate Christmas experience, plan a Rosewood Hotel Georgia “staycation” in the city this December: splurge on a well-deserved Winter Warm Up treatment at Sense, A Rosewood Spa; sip seasonal beverages at lobby lounge 1927; and savour a sumptuous dinner at “Restaurant of the Year”, Hawksworth, before taking the elevator home to your luxurious guestroom.
