La Pentola Introduces Seasonal Sips and Holiday Dining

Holiday 2

La Pentola’s bar team is getting into the Christmas spirit with new twists on traditional cocktails and carefully crafted festive ingredients. This week sees the addition of four Italian influenced seasonal sips.

La Befana is reinvented eggnog named after the old witch who, according to Italian folklore, rides a broomstick from house to house bringing gifts to children on Epiphany Eve. Carcadè Spumante showcases sparkling wine mixed with carcadè’, a traditional Italian hibiscus tea. The Sant’Angelo cocktail takes its inspiration from the shaved ice carts that are found on the streets of Rome, offering a sweet treat called ‘grattachecca’ flavoured with black cherry, tamarind, almonds or mint sciroppo (sugar syrup). La Pentola’s Sant’Angelo blends grappa and Marsala, two ingredients rarely seen in mixed drinks, mixed with tamarind sciroppo and housemade espresso bitters over crushed ice.

The season of sharing and caring is nearly upon us and there is no better way to celebrate than with family and friends over an alla famiglia style meal at La Pentola. On the 24th, 25th and 26th December the extended family can enjoy sharing a festive meal for an affordable $55pp, which includes a selection of starters, pastas, main courses and a dash of dolce to finish. The family-style dining will feature La Pentola classics such as parmesan soufflé, spaghetti all’amatriciana, and Kettle Valley hanger steak with arugula and balsamic vinegar, as well as creative Christmas dishes with a Northern Italian twist.

Plan your own Christmas party with the help of the La Pentola and OPUS Hotel teams. Dine with Chef Lucais Syme in La Pentola’s semi-private dining room or rent the whole restaurant, host a cocktail and canapé reception in OPUS bar or design your own experience in OPUS Hotel’s exclusive private space, catered by La Pentola.

The party spirit continues into the New Year when La Pentola will host a special New Year’s Eve dinner for their second seating on December 31st. The New Year’s Eve meal will include a glass of Moet & Chandon champagne, caviar and a mixture of individual dishes and family-style platters. Highlights will include vitello tonnato, lobster ravioli, Icelandic heritage breed lamb and celebratory dolci. The meal costs $65 per person, plus $25 booking fee.
