Eat, drink and be merry with La Pentola and OPUS Bar

LP Holiday

OPUS Hotel is gearing up for a fun and festive holiday season: La Pentola has a range of seasonal menus that are perfect for sharing family-style with friends and OPUS Bar is the hottest place to get the party started with a creative cocktail.

This December, make a yuletide toast at OPUS Bar and sip a spirited cocktail like The Variation, made with Tanqueray, maraschino, Crème Yvette, pressed lemon and lavender; or the Little Chile with pisco, Campari, fresh citrus, egg white and orange blossom water.

“The holidays are a time for celebrating with family and friends and we’re thrilled to be a part of this special time of year,” says La Pentola’s Chef Travis McCord. “Our Christmas and New Year’s Eve menus combine indulgence with imagination to offer an Italian inspired feast for the festive season.”

Celebrate Christmas Day at La Pentola with a choice of four different dinner menu options ranging from three courses for $40 per person to a 10-course extravaganza for $85 per person. Enjoy appetizers like the parmesan cheese soufflé with roasted beets, balsamic glazed carrots and buttered almonds, as well as feature pastas such as maltagliati with lamb ragu, mint and pecorino. Mains are a choice of whole roasted prime rib, prosciutto wrapped whole deboned turkey or honey glazed pork leg (with vegetarian options available). La Pentola is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (7am to late).

Say sayonara to 2015 this New Year’s Eve and start the evening off with an Italian influenced feast at La Pentola. Two special menus will be showcased on New Year’s Eve, available over two seatings: 6-8pm for $65 per person or 8-10:15pm for $80 per person.

Highlights include oysters on the half shell with prosecco mignonette and mullet roe; handmade tajarin, a ribbon style pasta from Peidmonte that is cooked with butter, sage and white alba truffle; and AAA beef tenderloin with chanterelles charred cipollini onion, black kale and pearl barley. End the night with a sweet treat of buttered popcorn ice cream with salted caramel popcorn, chocolate ganache, bourbon semi gel and vanilla meringues.
