Miradoro Restaurant at Tinhorn Creek Vineyards reopens for the season
Oliver, BC (March 1, 2017) – Tinhorn Creek Vineyards is pleased to announce the reopening of its winery restaurant Miradoro, after their annual two-month closure for the winter months. Led by the award-winning team of Executive Chef Jeff Van Geest and Restaurateur Manny Ferreira, Miradoro offers modern wine country cuisine paired with Tinhorn Creek wines in an unforgettable setting with panoramic views of the southern Okanagan Valley.
To celebrate the opening of the restaurant’s doors for the season, Chef Jeff Van Geest has created a celebratory $39 (plus tax and gratuities) menu that showcases his love for local ingredients and puts the best produce on the plate. Available during March dinnertimes only, the three-course menu begins with a choice of roast winter squash soup with ras al hanout spiced crumble and honey yogurt, or baby kale salad with beets, dried apple and green goddess dressing. Main course options include: risotto verde with spinach risotto, roast beets, whipped lemon ricotta and pickled walnuts; venison bolognese with rich tomato & ground venison sauce, spaghetti alla chitarra and parmegianno reggiano; or tuna putanesca calamarata, which is seared rare and served with artisan pasta and putanesca sauce. Dessert is an indulgent Italian tiramisu to finish off the feast.
Miradoro’s new spring menu combines the culinary traditions of the Mediterranean with fresh local produce, meat and grains, as well as Ocean Wise seafood. Highlights of the dinner menu include the new risotto verde ($26), venison bolognese ($26) and albacore tuna putanesca calamarata ($34). Miradoro also offers a three-course chef tasting menu for $55 ($30 for wine pairings) or the option of a family style feast for the table.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch pre or post wine tasting or a lighter snack such as beef & pork meatballs on focaccia with parmesan, confit garlic aioli & arugula ($18). Sip a glass, or two, of Tinhorn Creek Vineyards’ wine whilst enjoying one of Miradoro’s beloved pizzas ($19) that include flavours such as pizza funghi with white sauce, wild & cultivated mushrooms, nostrala and caramelized onions.
