Victoria’s The Courtney Room offers Festive Menus and Meals at Home
This holiday season, The Courtney Room offers a variety of options to help Victoria residents create special memories whether in the safe, calm interior of the restaurant or in the comfort of their own homes, with menus always focused on local, Vancouver Island produce and bright, balanced flavours.
The Courtney Room’s chef team has created a special menu that’s designed to bring the elegance and flavours of the award-winning restaurant into guests’ homes. The three-course Holidays at Home menu features house-made milk rolls; a winter salad with chicory, roasted squash, beets and verjus vinaigrette; roast chicken with stuffing roulade, seasonal vegetables, cranberry sauce and mushroom chicken gravy; followed by pear and pumpkin seed frangipane tart with cardamom caramel sauce. The festive dinner to go costs $60 per person plus tax and is available for pick up from December 20th to 26th. For those looking for a small, safe restaurant option to celebrate Christmas, The Courtney Room is offering a delicious three-course festive menu with a range of options, including roasted scallop, smoked carrot and almond hop emulsion or beef carpaccio with winter turnip, black garlic tahini, radicchio and salal to start; Lois Lake steelhead trout with crispy potato, sunflower seed, ras el hanout and coconut emulsion or Two Rivers Meats natural beef striploin, potato and yam galette, Tadwich cheese, bitter greens, spiced olive oil beef jus ($10 supplement); and to end, eggnog mousse with rum and orange or hazelnut and milk chocolate with toasted milk. The three course menu costs $76 per person plus tax and gratuity and is available on December 24 and 25, 2020 (limited availability).
It’s safe to say that welcoming the New Year will be extra special this year. Say farewell to 2020 in style and safety with a decadent menu that features eight flavourful courses. The delicious journey starts with a cashew milk latte and continues with kampachi, scallop and trout belly crudo with lime leaf coconut sorbet, kiwi and crispy skin; Lois Lake steelhead trout with smoke, sitka spruce, ginger and wild rice; braised lamb neck with radish, turnip, shiitake, winter squash and lamb jus; and Haltwhistle and Thombury cheese with hazelnut and pear. The epic feast ends with house-made mignardises. The New Years Eve menu is available for one night only and costs $100 per person plus tax and gratuity (limited availability).
To keep guests safe, The Courtney Room team has increased spacing between tables to exceed correct distancing measures, as well as closely adhering to stringent cleanliness standards in all locations within the restaurant space. Where necessary Plexi-glass barriers, floor decals and signage have been placed to maintain distancing and assist with movement and the team has been trained to provide their signature Courtney Room service at a safe distance and with caution.
