Drink of the Week – ‘Smoke on the Water’ Beer Cocktail from Bitter Tasting Room

This week’s Drink of the Week is a ‘Smoke on the Water’ beer cocktail that we recently tried at Bitter Tasting Room. Mike Mitchell is the talented Bar and Beverage Director who has developed the bar programs at the Heather Hospitality Group’s fine establishments which include The Irish Heather, Salt Tasting Room, Judas Goat and more. Bitter’s stellar bar program offers 8 rotating taps featuring great BC craft beers, with occasional imported beers from around the world. The bar team has positioned the kegs, beer lines and regulators so that guests can actually see for themselves how it all works behind the bar.

Just in time for patio season, today Bitter announced the opening of their new patio. Gather old and new friends to enjoy bustling beer culture in the heart of Gastown and pair up your favourite beer with Bitter’s take on quintessential bar fare. Our favourites include the signature scotch eggs, pretzels, or tasty sausage and house sauerkraut.

This week’s Drink of the Week is the ‘Smoke on Water’ made with ROGUE Captain Sigs Ale, No3 Dry Gin, St. Germain, grapefruit bitters and fresh lemon. This cocktail is herbal and malty with a touch of fruit, and Smokehead Whiskey is used as a garnish for subtle smoke.
