Concord Pacific Presents Candytown: Vancouver’s Newest Christmas Festival
The Yaletown Business Improvement Association is happy to announce that Concord Pacific is the presenting sponsor for Candytown, the only free outdoor Christmas festival in Downtown Vancouver. Candytown will transform the heritage district of Yaletown into a winter wonderland on Friday November 23 from 3pm – 9pm, and November 24 from 12pm – 9pm.
Little kids will love visiting Santa at his Reindeer Barn; Saturday only, from 1-5pm. Take a free Horse-Drawn Carriage ride, with stops at Yaletown Brewing Company, The Hub, Shoe Phix, and Bernstein and Gold along the 15-minute route following Mainland and Hamilton streets.
The Candytown Cocktail cruise offers a self-guided sipping tour of special cocktails created by the mixologists of Yaletown. Participating restaurants include Killjoy, Hooker’s Green, New Oxford, Society, Glowbal, Yaletown Brewing Co, Minami and Hamilton St. Grill.
Scotiabank Yaletown Skating Rink is free from 3-9pm on Friday, and 12-9pm on Saturday. Lace up your skates and join Trevor Linden on the ice Saturday! The public can sign up at Scotiabank Yaletown (he will make an appearance on Saturday from 12pm, with a free autograph session 1-3pm).
All I want for Christmas Street Market features tempting treats and gorgeous gifts. Watch for Mini Yaletown’s Rudolph the red nosed Mini and don’t forget to pick up your free shopping bag filled with deals and steals, courtesy of Yaletown. Listen for roaming musicians Friday and Saturday, including the Carnival Band, Harmonies to Go, Shot through the Harp and more.
It’s the season of giving, so Yaletown’s Candytown has invited several charities to be at the event. Festival goers will have the chance to donate to the Food Bank, BC Children’s Hospital and Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation on site. The Donnelly Foundation will also have a Toy Drive tent, soliciting donations for their annual toy drive for kids in need.
This outdoor Christmas festival is free, open to the public and sure to get people into the Christmas spirit.
