Drink of the Week – Coco L’Orange


Warm up by the fire at Cure Lounge at Whistler’s hidden gem, Nita Lake Lodge. Cure elevates apres ski to an art form; their oversized fireplace is a bubbling social hub all winter long. Head bartender Jan Madsen has crafted a festive Coco L’Orange cocktail, the perfect imbibe after a long day on the slopes. Kids in tow? Let the kids play on the heated patio and enjoy Cure’s s’mores station.

If you’re not heading up to Whistler this winter, try your hand at this cocktail at home:

“When coming up with the holiday cocktail list I had my favourite holiday flavours in mind. Smashing and tearing into a Terry’s chocolate orange was one of my favourite Christmas morning past times as a kid, so I designed a cocktail to recreate that taste and experience. We use fresh juices and puree’s in all of our cocktails, and juice the fruit right into the cocktails to add extra freshness, flavour and depth” – Jan Madsen.

1oz Grey Goose L’orange
5oz Crème de Cacao
0.5oz Kahlua
2oz Fresh Squeezed orange
2 dashes orange bitters

Shake over ice and strain into a martini glass, garnish with orange twist.
