Tofino, BC (April 25, 2017) Wolf in the Fog’s Chef Nick Nutting and Chef Joël Watanabe (Vancouver’s Kissa Tanto and Bao Bei) kick off Feast Tofino with an unforgettable evening of Asian and Italian inspired street eats at the Tofino Botanical Gardens on May 5 (6-10pm, $65 plus tax).
Both restaurants have been awarded the prestigious accolade of Best New Restaurant in Canada and the renowned chefs will be celebrating the start of Feast, Tofino’s premier boat-to-table food festival, which takes place May 5-21, 2017.
Wolf in the Fog was awarded Air Canada enRoute Magazine’s Best New Restaurant in Canada title in 2014, after opening to rave reviews that summer. Kissa Tanto took the 2016 award when Chef Watanabe wowed judges with his unique and inventive fusion of Italian and Japanese flavours. “We’re stoked to work with Chef Watanabe to kick off Feast and bring our community a taste of Canada’s best cooking,” says Chef Nick Nutting. “We’ll be welcoming spring with cocktail samples, street food, and a raw bar that shows off our local bounty.”
Wolf in the Fog will also be taking part in Feast’s 4th Annual Boat to Tailgate Party, which brings live music to the dock as community culinary partners cook up the fresh catch to help fundraise money for local salmon research with Central West Coast Forest Society (6-9pm, May 6, $45 plus tax). The Wolf Pack will also be attending the festival’s final event, the Tofino Dock Festival on May 20 ($20, 12-3pm), to celebrate the amazingly fresh seafood that Chef Nutting uses every day in the Wolf in the Fog kitchen.
