As the leaves continue to fall, Bel Café is thrilled to introduce a new food and drink menu offering guests a variety of seasonal beverages, soups, salads and sandwiches. Now available at both the downtown and Kitsilano locations, guests are invited to escape the cold with wholesome and warming fall menu items.

“With fall in full swing, we are delighted to bring our guests an array of seasonal treats and takeaways,” says Isabelle Grue Lee, Manager of Bel Café, Kitsilano. “From delicious beverages created by our talented team of barista’s to our freshly made high quality breakfast and lunchtime features, there is a little something for everyone this season.”

Showcasing a selection of new and imaginative sandwich creations, Chef Kevin Emry serves up freshly made flavour combinations including a Smoked BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich featuring housemade apple and cabbage slaw served atop a toasted bun ($12.40); Roasted Cauliflower Sandwich tossed in a house made blend of curry spice with smoked halloumi, ginger, tomato chutney and pickled raisin ($10.60); as well as a Turkey Sandwich with pumpkin hummus, cranberry preserve, pickled apple and brie ($12.40).

A British version of the Indian soup, Bel’s Mulligatawny Soup ($9.80) is the perfect addition for those crisp fall afternoons, it’s nutritious, warming and vegan too – the coconut milk and vegetable stock base is poured over diced and compressed apples, braised lentils, sautéed onion and carrots. Pair it with Bel’s new Kale Caesar Salad ($13) for the perfect soup and salad combination; or Bel’s Grilled Chicken Bibimbap featuring grilled chicken with carrot kimchi (shrimp paste, carrots, chili paste) and white ponzu ($14) on brown rice.

While pumpkin spiced lattes may highlight most fall drink menus, Bel’s highly skilled barista team offer patrons a variety of more seasonally creative sips. Tailored for the Kitsilano crowd, guests can enjoy a refreshing Ginger Beetroot Lemonade with antioxidant-rich beetroot powder and house-made ginger syrup; a House-made Horchata with ancho chilli infusion, cinnamon and vanilla; as well as a Salt and Pepper Latte, featuring fragrant long peppercorn and salty sweet condensed milk; and a Black Sesame Latte with honey and orange zest, also available at the downtown location. With fresh pastries prepared daily by Pastry Chef Wayne Kozinko, pair your seasonal beverage with a few sumptuous treats. Sample the irresistible Poached Plum, Hazelnut and Vanilla Tart; decadent Passion Fruit, Coconut and White Chocolate Cheesecake; or the simply delicious Horchata Panna Cotta with dried cherry and spiced crumble.
