Drink of the Week – Kits Mai Tai at The Oakwood Canadian Bistro
Yesterday evening we stopped by our favourite Oakwood Canadian Bistro over in Kitsilano. It’s been too long since we last visited, and have been craving the Oakwood’s sumptuous ‘Canadiana’ comfort food. We love the ‘tuna raw’ and kale salad (the most popular dishes on the menu), and are already planning our next visit to scour the rest of the menu. With a spring / summer cocktail list in full swing, we decided to try the ‘Kits Mai Tai’ – a delicious mix of Jameson whiskey, over-proofed rum, candied almond housemade orgeat syrup, fresh lime and mint.
Creative genius, Executive Chef Michael Robbins heads up the kitchen, with a focus on sustainability, creating all breads, pastas and sauces in-house. Quickly embraced by the Kits community since its opening in the summer of 2011, The Oakwood has become one of city’s premier restaurants. Owner Mike Shea and his talented team have mastered a casual atmosphere with a beautiful and comfortable room.
Stop by and take a seat on the patio, or gather inside with close friends & family at the communal table over great food, cocktails and wines.
