New Happy Hour, fresh menus and return of Sunday Supper Series signals start of spring at OPUS Hotel
OPUS Bar is welcoming Spring with open arms and a new Happy Hour menu that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Relax in the swanky Opus Bar and enjoy $5 drinks and snacks every day between 3-6pm. Located in the heart of Yaletown, OPUS Bar is the mellow hotel lobby lounge space for drinks with friends: ideal for times when the group is craving seriously good cocktails in style.
Hotel guests from next door mix and mingle with Vancouver’s art, fashion and locals. Sip on $5 lager and ales from local brewery Red Truck, or enjoying a glass of beautiful pink bubbles, red or white wine, $5. Snack on seasonal toasts such as ricotta, honey and walnut, or try grilled prawn skewers with lemon and parsley aioli: all $5 every day at Happy Hour.
Hop next door to La Pentola, recently named Best Restaurant in Yaletown (Silver) at the coveted Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. “We’re so pleased to be given this standout award in such a hotly contested category,” says Chef Travis McCord. “We’re celebrating with a new spring menu that makes the most of the fresh vegetables and seafood that’s now in season.”
Chef McCord has created a fresh take on locally sourced ingredients on the new spring menu, which features seasonal dishes such as potato gnocchi with pesto di arugula, peas, artichokes and pecorino ($17) and Shaw Farms Pork Belly & B.C. Scallops with celeriac, apple, calypso beans, fennel and pork jus ($28). Gather friends and family for a relaxed dinner of fresh pasta and classic Italian dishes that can be enjoyed a la familia.
Wine Director Christopher McFadden’s carefully curated list includes unusual tipples, such as red sparkling wine, and the restaurant’s eclectic drinks list features inventive cocktails, a wide range of negronis and local beer on tap. Sunday April 24 sees the return of the ever-popular Sunday Supper Series at La Pentola, with this month’s themed multi-course dinner focusing on The Fisherman and The Forager. Served family-style, the communal feast will feature the best of the season’s fresh produce from spot prawns to morel mushrooms, alongside handmade pastas and light desserts.
